COME TO BETHLEHEM

Happy Sunday.  I hope you enjoyed your holiday weekend and didn't shop too much.  Once I left Wal Mart I stayed at home and have been stamping. I had a Christmas ornament class yesterday and am helping my friends Linda and Judy with their Christmas cards this afternoon.  My card share today is using the stamp set Come to Bethlehem.

I used Night of Navy cardstock embossed with silver embossing powder.  The embossed image was cut using the Labels Collection Framelits and backed with Brushed Silver cardstock also cut with the Labels Collection Framelits.  I put a diamond in the middle of the star for a little "twinkle".

Sadly I have to go to work tomorrow (sigh) so will be dragging myself out of bed at dark thirty.  Wishing everyone a great week! Thanks for stopping by!

Don't forget our Online Extravaganza ends November the 28th with some great door closing deals.  Shop my site here  I appreciate your support.

BELATED HAPPY THANKSGIVING

A belated Happy Thanksgiving!  How many of you shopped all night?  I was at Best Buy about 4 days ago and there was already a tent, table and chairs set up.  After I cooked and we ate I did the one thing I swore I wasn't going to do,  I went to Wal Mart.  I arrived about 6:00 and they were already open.  The store wasn't very busy, shoppers were picking up some of the deals that were out but you couldn't check out until 8:00.  I was there to get a great deal on Nabi 2 tablets for my grandsons.(they are 4 and 7 and don't read my blog )   I had gotten an email from Best Buy with the same price and went to the website as soon as it hit my inbox....sold out! So off I went into the madness. Electronics was very organized with one of the associates methodically labeling and forming lines for various items down aisles.  There were about 6 of us that stood in line for about an hour and a half.  Then the fun began.  First there appeared to be only about 3 tablets, the inventory showed many more than that.  While we patiently waited for them to locate the additional tablets another sales associate decided to sell the few they had to walk up customers. Can I just say drama! They located the additional tablets, thankfully, so I made my purchase and left.  I am staying home today.

This is my Thanksgiving card made from an idea I saw on Pinterest.  We made these at our Sassy Stampers monthly meeting.  Frances had an event the following Saturday and used the idea to make 3 x 3 cards at her demonstration.  They turned out really cute.

I used Early Expresso card stock for my base and cut a Whisper White scallop square with my big shot, folded it in half and made a V cut in the middle of the front.  The belt is a Basic Black strip with a square of Daffodil Delight card stock punched with the 1 3/8" square punch and the 1" square punch for the buckle.   A piece of black ribbon and you're done! The sentiment and the envelope are stamped with the Day of Gratitude stamp set.  I always recommend using a piece of Whisper White card stock on the inside of your card, especially with dark colors for your sentiment or personal note.

Don't forget the Online Extravaganza.  Your support is appreciated.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend and wish all of you a blessed holiday season.

SWAP BOX DAY 3

Today is the Raleigh Christmas Parade.  Yikes this month has flown by.  Below is the third item I put in my swap box.

These are 3 x 3 enclosure cards made with the Holiday Collection framelits. My base is Cherry Cobbler card stock. I embossed my 2 7/8" square piece of Whisper White card stock before cutting them with the framelits. I used a thick coating of adhesive on the front of the card and layered strips of ribbon before adding my white embossed piece using dimensionals. A piece of Early Expresso ribbon and you're done. I always add a piece of Whisper White card stock on the inside for a stamped sentiment or personal message.

SWAP BOX DAY 2

Today is day 2 of the items I put in my swap box.  I was browsing a dollar bin in a store and found this note pad. I took one look and  thought PERFECT!  This matches one of our stamps perfectly.  Look!

This bird cage is almost exactly like the cage in our Nature Walk stamp set and look at the music wheel at the bottom.  Here is howI decorated the front.

I used Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White card stock cut using  the Labels Collection Framelits for layering.  I stamped the bird cage and popped it up with dimensionals and have it hanging on bakers twine.  I stamped the bird, and then stamped again, colored his beak and feet, fussy cut it out and popped it up on dimensionals as well.  I ran some Early Expresso ribbon around the folder beneath the framelits to hold the folder closed.  I was very pleased with the effect. I do wish I had inked the edges to give it a more distressed look.  Next time!

Don't forget I am offering 10 percent or free shipping which is less off of an 60.00 order for the month of November.

Thanks for stopping by.

SHOEBOX SWAP VARIATION

Hi friends,
I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekend and took time to give a minute of thanks for all veterans past and present who sacrifice to serve our country.

For our Sassy Stampers monthly meeting tonight we decided to do a variation of a shoe box swap.  For this swap you decorate your box and fill it with completed projects and goodies.  The entire box will be swapped with another member.  What a fun way to share your ideas and give a few treats as well.  I will be sharing the contents of my box this week with you.   My first item is a message center on the go which was cased from Debbie Henderson.  I changed it a bit as she used a piece of sturdy cardboard and I used a small foam board that I had from another project.  I wasted as few sheets of paper as the thickness of the board changed the measurements I had from the attempt at one I made with cardboard.  I like the sturdiness of the foam board better but had to go back to the drawing board.  Unfortunately I wasted a bit of paper in the process.  I was going to use the original size of the board which was 8 x10 but decided to cut it down for this one.  The next one I would like to add an envelope for receipts or maybe a piece of cork for a mini cork board.

I used paper Orchard Harvest DSP, Island Indigo Card Stock, Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon, Blossom Punch, 1 1/4 Scallop Circle Punch, Modern Label Punch and of course your will need your trimmer, snips, bone folder, sticky strip, dimensionals, and I used Tombow glue as well.

Don't forget I am giving 10% off or free shipping, which ever is greater off of a $60.00 order this month for my birthday. And if you join Stqampin" Up! this month you will receive, in addition to you $99 make it your way kit a complete set of ink pads FREE!  What a great deal.!

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY MONTH

Hi crafty friends,

Quick post today.   DON'T FORGET! It's my birthday month and I am offering 10% or free shipping, which ever is larger, off of your purchase of $60.00 or more.  This offer is only for this month.  Get your Christmas list together and save money.  Why not start with the new trimmer.

The new trimmer is here and below is a short video showing all of the neat features of this trimmer including:
A full 12" cutting snd scoring track.  You don't have to change out your blades to change from cutting to scoring.
The cutting track locks into place and is designed for straight cuts, no more wonky cuts.
The grid lines won't wear off,  Yea, my favorite as I was struggling to find  lines on my old well used trimmer.
There is also a compartment under the base to store extra blades.

WONKY PICTURE

Lol.  I would take this picture over but I have given the card to one of the Assistant Principles I work with.  Abby is having a little girl, her first, so I made a diaper cake and this card for a surprise shower we are giving her this afternoon.  I don't know what happened to this picture because these drawers are straight.  As a matter of fact the whole picture looks kind of drunk.  I took it with my IPhone and when I mailed to myself it  was upside down and the words were mirror image.  Really?! Not sure how I fixed it I just kept flipping and rotating it until it was right side up.  Now it is wavy and wonky.  It really was stinkin' cute!  This is a combination of a card and a frame Jackie Topa made.  I tried to make the frame first but just couldn't get the chair that sat is the frame, to work for me.  This stair step card is made from Whisper White card stock and inked around the edges with Pink Pirouette ink.  I used Pink Pirouette card stock to back the poem, which I typed on my computer.  I fussy cut a stamped onsie and a bib to put on opposite corners.  Here is the poem which I just love.
Scrubbing and cleaning
 Can wait until tomorrow
For babies grow up
 We've learned to our sorrow
So quiet down cobwebs
Dust go to sleep
I'm rocking my baby
and babies don't keep

            12688O
I just received my new Stampin' Up! trimmer and I love it!  It is my most favorite new toy :) There are so many things that make it a cut above (lol) the old trimmer including  the full 12" cutting and scoring track, I hated removing the blades to get a full 12" cut! and having to keep switching out my scoring and cutting blades.  The cutting base has been extended to 6-1/4" with a 14-1/2" extender ruler.  The trimmer also has a storage compartment under the base to hold additional cutting/scoring blades The 1/4" grid lines are printed under a plastic cover on the base so measurements won't wear off.  I was having a hard time finding my lines to measure with my old trimmer as they were wearing off.

Stampin' Success is giving cutomers a sneak peek at the bi-monthly magazine sent out just to demonstratore.  It is full of tips, project samples and loads of information.  You can peek by clicking here I love this magazine and can't wait to get it!

Remember this is just one of the perks of becoming
a stampin up demonstrator.  You receive and extra
10% discount off of your first order and if you join between November 1- December 16, 2012 you will
receive a full set,  That's 10 ink pads, from the color family of your choice.  (Brights, Subtles, or Regals)

Inky Huggz,

I think I am finally on the mend after 3 weeks of this crud.  Sadly I missed sharing my Halloween projects which I just loved and worked hard on so I have decided to share them today and move on to Thanksgiving and Christmas next week.  I will not give a lot of detail, if you would like information please contact me and I will share detailed information with you.
This card is a case of a box or bag I saw while surfing the web one day. I'm sorry I can't remember whose blog I saw it on but a big shout out to her for the idea. The hair was the hardest part for me. I'm not sure how it was originally done but I used the Flower Folds die and cut off the petals.

This one was made using the Toxic Treats stamp set.  I painted the witch, broom and cat with versa mark and embossed them with black embossing power.  The sky was made by sponging around a scalloped circle punch out .

Here is my Shy Frankenstein hiding in a milk carton treat box. Isn't he cute?!

This last share is a treat box made from the Petite Purse die and a matching easel card.  I used stamped images from Wicked Cool stamp set.  This card wouldn't have mailed easily because of the bulk from the medallion but I still thought it was cute.

Now for some news:

NOW through Dec. 16, Stampin' Up! is including a FREE color collection of our new Foam Ink Pads (your choice of color group) with the purchase of the Starter Kit or you can host a qualifying party of $450.00 or more. ( You will also receive your $65 in hostess merchandise).
